Post Seven: The Pace Picks Up

With busy educational and personal schedules, it is easy to lose sight of what we should be doing and when we should be doing it. Following the class syllabus, and being proactive in checking personal e-mail, can help students stay on track. It is also important to remain flexible, attend all lectures, and accept unexpected assignments in stride.

Class-related information is now coming at us from many directions and the pace in English 104 is picking up. We are each responsible for reading the designated text chapters and all additional handouts, following the class blog, visiting suggested online sites, posting weekly to individual blogs, responding to the works of other group members, and completing all interim and long-term assignments. I believe that is just easier to take personal responsibility for our own individual success and stay on top of class requirements.

  1. Yes, it drives me a bit crazy trying to post things in so many places in the hopes that students will see them, but that's what technology has done for us! Used to be the only place you got information was in the classroom itself--and you were just out of luck if you didn't go to class. But that was in the olden days! ;-)
